Cagliari will look to leapfrog Genoa, who are a point and hence a place better than them. This is a bit of a relegation 6 pointer, and games between these two don't tend to end in stalemates. Last year, the home side won each of the 3 meetings, and I'm expecting a home win in this one too.
Now looking at the recent results you might be wary, for Cagliari have lost their last 6 games in all competitions. But look at the opposition - Juventus twice, Parma, and Lazio are all games you would expect them to lose.
What I am encouraged by is the improvement in those games, as the last 3 losses, only 1 of which was at home, saw them at least score. Those losses came against Parma, Juventus and Lazio.
Genoa are on a run of 3 without defeat, and impressively have held Inter Milan and Torino to 1-1 draws, before a 2-0 win against Bologna. Good form, for sure, but I smell a letdown. That kind of form is hard to maintain, even for good teams, so I'm not expecting a team in the relegation mix to be able to sustain it.
Cagliari are the ones with more motivation for this one. They are home, have lost their last 2 meetings with Genoa, although they were away, and will want revenge. Not to mention being in a relegation struggle too.
