Introduction:
Both teams will be playing in the World Cup Qualifiers in which they will start as favourites to get the win as they will come up against the bottom teams in their qualifying group.
Germany will play in the Confederations Cup after they (almost certainly) have an easy win over San Marino and that will be a much more difficult test for them. Denmark will take on Kazakhstan away from home and has a great chance to win after a poor start to their qualification.
Denmark have lost twice already and they cannot reach the first place in the group while the second place is also doubtful now. The same cannot be said about Germany who are leading their group with maximum points so they are almost assured of a place in the World Cup Finals.
Denmark
Denmark are not performing well in the qualifying for the World Cup even though they suffered just one defeat which was a home defeat by Montenegro when they were beaten by 1-0. They were also beaten by Poland 3-2 away from home, but that was not a surprise defeat and they also played a goalless draw with Romania away from home.
The Danes managed two wins, and it was achieved twice at home against the likes of Armenia and Kazakhstan. So they now have six points less then leaders Poland and it is difficult to go to the top spot in the last remaining five matches. Their next match is away against Kazakhstan and they need to win that match in order to boost their confidence before they take on Poland in September.
Denmark did also played a friendly match with Czech Republic which ended in a 1-1 draw. They are unbeaten in their last three games now, which includes two draws in that run. Now they will face a difficult match against Germany and they will not mind if they can get a draw in this match. They are missing several key players for this match and it will be a difficult task without their presence.
The likes of goalkeeper Schmeichel and midfielder Wass from Celta Vigo are not in the side but the biggest problem for coach Hareide is in attack as he needs to decided between the young Ajax star Dolberg, and more experienced Jorgensen, Poulsen and Braithwaite.
Germany
The last time Germany suffered defeat was a year ago which came in the semi-final of the European Championship to France. In the qualifiers, Germany has won all of the five matches they have played in. They conceded just once and they are looking good to qualify to the World Cup which will be in Russia next year.
In ten days time they will also be playing in the Confederations Cup. This will be a big test for Germany but they will have a match with San Marino in the qualifiers to come and it seems they will win that match easily but the question is by how many goals?
Germany are likely to field six new players for this match as they did not invite the big stars for this clash so it is hard to see the actual strength of the side for this clash. Even though in goal Neuer is not called up, but we have Barcelona's custodian in ter Stegen in goal.
Then the likes of Hummels, Boateng and Howedes were also left out of the side. Other players to have been left out are Midfielder T. Kroos, Khedir and Ozil, and strikers T. Muller, Gomez and Sana.
