A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Football: AFF Suzuki Cup
1st December 2018 – Kickoff 20:45 [Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia]
Introduction:
Malaysia take on Thailand at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium for the first leg semi final of the AFF Suzuki Cup.
Malaysia
Malaysia should look back to the fact that they got off to a bad start in the AFF Suzuki Cup back in 2010 after they were beaten by Indonesia 5-1 in the group stages but shrugged off the mauling and went on to win the tournament by beating Indonesia 4-2 via aggregate in a two-legged final in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.
They still have two survivors from that squad - Norshahrul Idlan Talaha and Khairul Fahmi Che Mat and are now still playing important roles for the team in the competition. Khairul started the first three games of the group stages while Norshahrul is Malaysia’s top scorer in the tournament with four goals.
Malaysia were impressive in their 3-0 win against Myanmar and there's good momentum with the team at the moment. It should be noted that Malaysia have not lost to Thailand at home in 47 years and the Thais’ only win on Malaysian soil came at the 1971 Merdeka Tournament where they won 2-0.
Thailand
Thailand coach Milovan Rajevac said his team will not be fazed in front of a sellout 80,000 crowd and they will be keen to end the record of not having won in Malaysia for the last 47 years. Defending champions Thailand are the overwhelming favourites as they ended the group having scored 15 goals in four matches played.
One thing is for certain and that it will be a two legged affair so Thailand knows they can still comeback in their home stadium if things do not go for their way here. They do not only depend on Adisak (Kraisorn) or Sanrawat (Dechmitr)but they also have the most balanced side in the competition. They are not only very good in attack but have very experienced defenders at the back as well.
Past Meetings:
Malaysia are unbeaten at home to Thailand in 47 years.
The Pick:
Go for Malaysia and accept the 1/2 ball Asian Handicap.
