Stoke City made it four points picked up from their last two games in the Championship with a point gained on Saturday afternoon by way of a creditable 1-1 draw away from home at Preston NE, which followed a previous 3-1 home win against QPR.
However, Stoke City are by no means out of the woods yet as The Potters still find themselves embroiled in a relegation battle towards the bottom of the Championship table with only two points separating them from Cardiff City and the bottom three clubs ahead of these midweek fixtures.
Results on home soil though at their bet365 Stadium have been solid and steady as The Potters have suffered just one loss within their last eight home games, picking up wins against Sunderland, Swansea City, Blackburn Rovers and QPR along with keeping five clean sheets.
Luton Town also picked up a useful point on the weekend in the English second tier when The Hatters held promotion-chasing Leeds United to a 1-1 draw away from home at Elland Road which in turn extended the visitors’ unbeaten run to four games overall.
Recent vital wins against the likes of Cardiff City and Hull City, both of which were away from home, have been supplemented by picking up useful points in draws with Middlesbrough and aforementioned Leeds United as well.
However, although Luton Town have won their last two away games on the trot, The Hatters have also slipped to the highest number of defeats on the road so far in this season’s Championship campaign (15), so this upcoming trip to the bet365 Stadium on Tuesday night looks like being a tricky proposition for Matt Bloomfield’s side.
