Auxerre will be desperate to avoid a fourth defeat on the trot in Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon when they prepare for the visit of Toulouse at their Stade de l’Abbé-Deschamps as the hosts have slipped to three defeats on the trot in the French top flight.
Despite getting off to a good start in this season’s Ligue 1 campaign by way of a 1-0 home win against Lorient, Christophe Pélissier’s side have since stumbled to losses against Nice, Nantes and Monaco respectively, although it should be noted that the former two losses were away from home.
Auxerre had finished last season’s campaign in 11th place in the Ligue 1 table and level on points with their upcoming opponents, Toulouse.
Toulouse occupy a mid-table position of 10th place in the early Ligue 1 standings this season having picked up two wins but also two losses ahead of this upcoming trip to take on Auxerre at the Stade de l’Abbé-Deschamps on Sunday afternoon.
The visitors had previously produced an excellent start to this new campaign as Carles Martínez’s side had registered early season victories at the expense of Nice and Brest but Toulouse have also stumbled into recent roadblocks with defeats at the hands of PSG and Lille as well.
It’s now just two wins from their last 10 matches in all competitions for Toulouse and they also look to be struggling to gain any sort of consistency in the early weeks of this Ligue 1 season.
