We expected more from Juventus this season, especially after the 4-3 festival of long shots against Inter, but it turned out that Juventus lost four points afterwards with draws against Verona and Atalanta.
At one point Juventus looked like the prime candidate for the scudetto and Igor Tudor looked like a tactical mastermind that brought Juventus back to their glory days, but then someone threw a wrench in the gears and Tudor looks like he'll get fired if he doesn't make this team perform on a regular basis and not just sporadically.
All the ingredients are there, the roster is full of quality players, most notably Kenan Yildiz. But it seems Tudor can't find a proper position for Teun Koopmeiners who basically hasn't even performed since joining the team from Atalanta a long time ago.
The poor defending is a glaring issue and it's sometimes incredible to watch Juventus defenders give up on an offensive player who's just about to make a long shot. Something's very wrong in this team, and they could have been a contender.
AC Milan Team News
It's time to revert to our original season preview where we said Milan is the first favourite for the title because, well, Modric's teams tend to win trophies. He has 32 if you count the World Cup silver and bronze medals. This prediction that Milan will suddenly do well was proven true as Luka Modric looks like the only grown-up player among 19 children on the pitch, and Milan has nothing but victories since the Cremonese slip-up, and this includes a 2-1 win over Napoli.
Modric has help from Pulisic and Saelemaekers, and Pavlovic is a special player as he can almost play a wingback despite being a centre-back.
The things Modric does for this team extend well beyond his actions on the ball. He probably spends his week teaching the other players to make better and more timely decisions, he directs them to go left or right, short or long throughout the game, and is basically running this team like a maestro while also playing the first violin. If you haven't watched a Milan game yet this season, now would be a good time.
Milan is still troubled by its lack of a proper forward, as Gimenez isn't one, but it helps that Massimiliano Allegri mended this problem by fielding him together with Pulisic in a two-striker formation. Sometimes this is all a coach has to do.
Oh and tell Modric "do what you want, run all you want". Because, as the Italian press noticed recently, in Real Madrid they probably told him "run but be careful not to break a sweat". These new Max Allegri instructions made all the difference.
Probable Lineups
Juventus (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio - Joao Mario, Gatti, Kelly - Kalulu, Locatelli, McKennie, Cambiaso - Conceicao, Yildiz - Vlahovic. Coach Tudor.
Milan (3-5-2): Maignan - Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic - Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesachi - Pulisic, Gimenez. Coach Allegri.
The best Juventus defender Bremer trained separately from the rest of the squad and will likely not be in the starting lineup. Thuram will be on the bench after recovering from injury. Tudor will likely correct his mistake and field Vlahovic instead of David up front.
Milan will use the same old lineup, possibly with the addition of young left-back Bartesachi on the left flank. Modric will play, of course. Probably 90 minutes, too.

Neither of these sides are very confident in defending, so the game will likely have goals. We see both teams scoring here, at the very least, and we'll use the Bet Builder to add the third goal on top of that. We get a tasty price of 2.37. As far as the winner prediction goes, Milan is a more competent side, with a player who knows how to lead his team to a victory. However, Juventus is perfectly capable of securing a high-scoring draw here.
