Le Havre ended a winless run of five games in the French top flight over the weekend as Didier Digard’s side registered a welcome 1-0 win on the road at Auxerre which helped ease some of their previous relegation worries and the hosts now hold home advantage at their Stade Oceane on Wednesday night.
A previously worrying five-match winless run in Ligue 1 included points gained against Lorient, Metz and Rennes although these points were overshadowed by recent losses incurred against Strasbourg and Marseille, both of which were away from home.
However, results on home soil so far in this season’s Ligue 1 campaign at their Stade Oceane have been a little more promising as Didier Digard’s side have suffered just one loss in their opening four home games.
Brest occupy 12th place and are level on points with their upcoming hosts, Le Havre, following a 3-0 loss at home to PSG which also made it three league games without a win for Eric Roy’s side.
Prior to that defeat, Brest had put together an encouraging four-game unbeaten sequence which included collecting wins against the likes of Nice and Angers as well as draws with Nantes and Lorient, but the visitors have had little else to cheer about otherwise.
Brest possess an ordinary looking away record of 1-1-2 6/8 so far on their travels in this season’s Ligue 1 campaign which includes suffering losses at Toulouse and Lens, and Wednesday night’s trip to the Stade Oceane could produce further problems for the visitors.
