Augsburg are a real mess this season. Nothing works for them, and their coach and former player Sandro Wagner looks clueless about what to do.

They dropped out of the DFB Cup by losing again at home, 0-1 against the worst team from 2.Bundesliga – VfL Bochum! The pressure keeps piling on everyone, and it is unlikely they will get out of the bad situation soon.
Now Augsburg’s next two opponents before the International break are Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart, after which games Augsburg could easily slip to the rock bottom of the Bundesliga.
Coach Wagner rotated players, the goalkeeper, changed formations, but nothing worked in recent games. I doubt it will suddenly work against the superior Borussia Dortmund side.

No team likes to play long cup matches with extra time and penalties, and that’s what Borussia Dortmund did last Tuesday night.
After playing a 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, they went on to win on penalties and progress into the Round of 16 of the DFB Pokal.
Fortunately, coach Niko Kovac has a large squad at his disposal and likes to rotate a lot, so we will surely see some changes in this game.
Regardless of who plays and who warms the bench, Borussia Dortmund are in excellent shape. They suffered just one defeat this season, from Bayern Munich, winning five and drawing twice in their eight Bundesliga games. Last week, they narrowly won 1-0 against Koln.
That defeat a few weeks ago by Bayern Munich is Borussia Dortmund’s single defeat in their last 16 Bundesliga matches, so their form has been almost perfect.
However, they are still trailing the Bundesliga leaders by 7 points, so they have no luxury of relaxing, calculating, or underperforming. Borussia Dortmund simply must win all remaining Bundesliga games before the winter break, when some regrouping will happen.
Another very interesting fact about Borussia Dortmund this season is that their recent Bundesliga games were unusually low-scoring. Five of their last six matches ended with under 2.5 goals scored.
