Mid-table QPR have slowly descended the Championship table in recent weeks as the London club have been involved in back-to-back draws of late in the domestic second tier following stalemates with Stoke City and Oxford United, both of which ended in 0-0 bore draws.
The 12th placed hosts have found league wins hard to come by since mid-December as The R’s have posted just two victories in their last nine matches in all competitions which came in the form of wins against Leicester City and relegation doomed Sheffield Wednesday.
In addition, Julien Stéphan’s side have also succumbed to four defeats within this period as well, three of which were in the Championship at the hands of Middlesbrough, West Brom and Norwich City, along with an early FA Cup exit to Premier League outfit West Ham.
Wrexham have fared the better of the three promoted teams from League One at the end of last season as the Welsh visitors occupy a place in the top half of the table in 9th place and they have suffered just one loss in their last seven matches across all competitions.
A disappointing 2-1 loss at home to a rejuvenated Norwich City has been Wrexham’s only blot on an otherwise impressive copy book as The Dragons have also picked up five wins within these previous seven games.
Victories in the Championship against Sheffield United, Preston NE, Blackburn Rovers and Derby County, the latter two being away from home, along with dumping Premier League side Nottingham Forest out of the FA Cup should give Phil Parkinson’s side plenty of momentum heading into this upcoming clash in the nation’s capital.
The Betting Verdict
QPR’s current form has been inconsistent and an attacking Wrexham side could exploit The R’s on Saturday afternoon.
The Pick :
QPR 1-2 Wrexham
