A Sports Betting Pick by Auls

Burnley v Brighton
Football: English Premier League
Saturday 11th April 2026 - Kick Off 3pm

Burnley

Twenty-one points remain to play for and Burnley are increasingly looking destined for a drop back into the Championship. They took the lead at Craven Cottage before the March international break, but Scott Parker's current team were not able to hold against one of his former clubs, Fulham, and another defeat has put Burnley in a difficult spot.

They are 19th in the Premier League table and 10 points from safety after the latest round of fixtures have been played and Burnley need to start winning matches. Only Wolves have a poorer home record than Burnley who have put together a 2-5-8 set of results at Turf Moor this season where they have scored 15 goals, but conceded 23.

Burnley fans would have been hoping the fight back from 2-0 down to beat Crystal Palace 2-3 at Selhurst Park may have given the team a spark, but the side have won none of the last 5 Premier League games and lost 3 of the last 4. Prior to the goalless draw with Bournemouth, Burnley had lost 3 in a row at Turf Moor in all competitions.

Josh Laurent is suspended and Hannibal Mejbri is a doubt, but Axel Tuanzebe should be available after scoring the winning goal for DR Congo to return to the World Cup Finals.

Brighton

The deserved three points earned from a 2-1 win over Liverpool prior to the March international break means Brighton will return with some confidence. Fabian Hurzeler knows he will be judged on whether he can take Brighton back into European competition and that victory over Liverpool along with a positive set of results before that win have given The Seagulls some real momentum.

While the team may be 10th in the Premier League table, Brighton are only 5 points behind Chelsea in 6th place and there will be a confidence surging through the squad that they can provide a strong end to the campaign. Improving the 4-4-7 away record is important for Brighton who have scored 17 goals and conceded 20 in those matches.

Brighton recovered from the FA Cup Fourth Round defeat at Liverpool to win 4 of the next 5 Premier League games with the exception being a home defeat to the current leaders. The side had not been in the best form away from home before upsetting Brentford 0-2 at the Gtech Community Stadium and Brighton followed up with a win at Sunderland.

Lewis Dunk is suspended.

Head to Head

Brighton beat Burnley 2-0 at home earlier this season.

They are unbeaten in 4 visits to Turf Moor and Brighton have won twice in that run.

Prediction

There are three weeks between Brighton's last Premier League fixture and the next one this weekend and Fabian Hurzeler is going to be hoping that the break has not slowed the momentum that had been picked up.

Once again Brighton are looking to challenge for a return to European Football and they need to maintain the winning run that has been put together.

Brighton have been much better at the Amex Stadium this season, but consecutive away wins at Brentford and Sunderland will have given the squad a lift. Now they are travelling to the North West to take on an opponent destined for the Championship and the Brighton squad is perhaps looking at its most healthy in weeks.

There is quality available to the manager and Brighton are still a team that create plenty of chances.

However, the difference at the moment is that they have players like Danny Welbeck in decent goalscoring form and that has helped Brighton put together 4 wins in 5 Premier League games played.

It would be a huge surprise if Brighton are not able to create quality chances in this fixture and they will be confident having won twice in the last 4 games played at Turf Moor.

Scott Parker's Burnley will still cling onto hopes of a miracle escape from the bottom three, but the team have lost 3 of the last 4 games played and have been struggling at both ends of the pitch. They did offer a threat when hosting Bournemouth recently, but the away team were incredibly wasteful on that day and that has to be a concern for Burnley as they have continued to struggle with the balance needed at both ends of the pitch.

Burnley had lost 3 in a row at home prior to the draw with Bournemouth and they look unlikely to contain Brighton.

There is some character and determination in the Burnley camp that makes them dangerous, but they have lacked the Premier League quality needed and Brighton can score at least twice in a winning effort here.

The Pick :

Burnley 0-2 Brighton
