Rugby League : Australia : NRL Season 2026
Saturday 20th June 2026 - KO 1500 AEST
Wests Tigers
The Tigers continue to be one of the competition's hardest teams to assess. Their season has featured some excellent victories, including wins over Canterbury and Newcastle, but also an astonishing 68-0 collapse against Penrith that exposed some lingering defensive concerns. Their ability to rebound immediately against the Titans demonstrated the resilience Benji Marshall has built into the squad.
Wests are placed 10th with a record of 7-6 which is just one win outside the top 8.
Much of Wests improvement in 2026 has revolved around the influence of Jarome Luai. His competitiveness and confidence have transformed the Tigers mentality, while captain Api Koroisau continues to provide direction around the ruck. Fullback Jahream Bula remains one of the club's biggest attacking weapons, capable of turning half-chances into line breaks through his speed and footwork. The Tigers forward pack has also taken a significant step forward this season. Terrell May has been outstanding through the middle, regularly generating post-contact metres and providing the platform for Luai and Koroisau to attack. When Wests win the middle third, they become a genuinely dangerous football side.
However, consistency remains the question. The Tigers can look like a top-eight team one week and a bottom-four side the next. Against a Dolphins side in outstanding form, they simply cannot afford lapses in concentration.
Redcliffe Dolphins
The Dolphins arrive in Campbelltown carrying enormous momentum. After dismantling both North Queensland and the Sydney Roosters in recent weeks, Kristian Woolf's side has become one of the most feared attacking teams in the competition. They sit inside the top four and have developed an impressive balance between attacking flair and defensive discipline. This great form places the Dolphins in 4th off an 8-5 record so a finals ticket almost looks assured at this point and if their current form continues they will be a problem for everyone in the finals series.
The emergence of Isaiya Katoa has been one of the stories of the 2026 season. The young halfback is playing with remarkable composure, controlling matches through his kicking game while also creating opportunities for the strike power around him. His partnership with Kodi Nikorima who himself is in career best form gives the Dolphins a dangerous combination of structure and unpredictability.
Out wide, the Dolphins possess genuine game-breakers. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow remains one of the fastest players in rugby league, while Herbie Farnworth has developed into one of the premier centres in the competition. Add in the finishing ability and goal kicking of Jamayne Isaako and it's easy to understand why the Dolphins have been scoring points at an alarming rate.
Odds
The visiting Dolphins are favourites, $2.75 to $1.47, the line is 6.5 points and combined points 52.5
The Betting Verdict
The Wests Tigers return to Campbelltown Sports Stadium facing one of the hottest teams in the competition, the Dolphins. What looked like a mid-table matchup a month ago has suddenly become a genuine litmus test for both clubs. The Tigers are trying to prove they belong in the finals conversation, while the Dolphins have emerged as a legitimate top-four contender with one of, if not the best attacks in the NRL.
These teams have only met 4 times with the spoils shared 2-2, the most recent meeting was early last season where the Tigers won in Queensland 18-30, Redcliffe were kept scoreless in the second half. Wests win 40% of their matches at Campbelltown and this will be the first trip for Redcliffe to this ground. Wests Tigers have lost six of their last seven games at Campbelltown.
The home side will believe they can compete physically through the middle. Terrell May, Koroisau and Luai have given Wests a toughness that was missing in previous seasons, and Campbelltown remains a difficult venue for visiting teams. The problem is the Dolphins are currently playing their best football of the year, both home and away.
Redcliffes attack looks far more polished, their defence has tightened considerably, and they possess multiple players capable of producing points from anywhere on the field. Katoa's game management has become a huge weapon, allowing the Dolphins to apply sustained pressure before their outside backs capitalise on fatigued defenders.
The key battle will be ruck speed. If the Tigers can slow down Katoa and prevent quick play-the-balls, they can drag the Dolphins into a grinding contest. If the Dolphins generate momentum through the middle, players like Tabuai-Fidow and Farnworth could have a field day against a Tigers defence that has occasionally leaked points in bunches.
Recent form strongly favours the visitors. While Wests are capable of upsetting anyone on their day, the Dolphins appear more settled, more consistent, and more dangerous across the park. The Tigers should compete hard for long periods, but over 80 minutes the Dolphins attacking class may simply prove too much and with the Dolphins scoring 30 points or more in their last five games, this match screams high scoring.
Prediction: Dolphins by 10 in an entertaining, high-scoring contest.
