2009-04-26 - Reggina vs Juventus
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Reggina will be hoping to carry on with another upset after beating Atalanta in their last match. However that was their first win since November, and ended a run of 18 matches without a win! Even with that win, it will still be nothing short of a miracle if they are to avoid the drop now.
Reggina are separated by four points from Torino, who are above the relegation zone. Reggina have to beat Juventus if they hope to stay close to Torino and avoid the drop, and that alone will not be an easy task at all.
Their biggest problem remains scoring goals and they have only scored 16 goals in the 32 matches they have played in. There are only six matches where they managed to score more than a single goal too. And the only match they scored more than two was the the first match against Atalanta which means that they scored more than once against that particular team.
Juventus have dropped to third place after the draw with Inter Milan and they will know that this match represents their best chance to get back above Milan in the standings. Milan faces a tough challenge against Palermo in their encounter.
Juventus form have dropped to. After managing five consecutive wins, they are unable to win in their previous three games now. It started with the surprise draw against Chievo, followed up by a loss to Genoa and the draw last week with Inter. Juventus must win this match if they hope to secure the second spot in the standings as well as keep up any slim hopes of reducing the 10 points gap with Inter Milan.
Last season Juventus were beaten by Reggina due to a late penalty but they already managed a 4-0 win when they met earlier this season. The likes of Mauro Camoranesi, Amauri, Giorgio Chiellini and Alessandro Del Piero all had a part in scoring enroute the 4-0 win.
Most interesting is that there is a pattern that can be derived from when Juventus paid a visit here. For the last six years the scoreline has alternated between a 2-1 win to Reggina and a 2-0 win to Juventus. Therefore this match if following that run should end with a 2-0 win to Juventus.
With regards to the team news, Reggina have problems as they have a number of injuries and suspensions. Strikers Bernardo Corradi and Daniel Adejo, goalkeeper Andrea Campagnolo and midfielder Carlos Carmona are all out of this match due to injuries. While the likes of Edgar Barreto and defenders Maurizio Lanzaro and Andrea Costa are all serving suspensions.
Juventus themselves are missing the likes of Sissoko, Hasan Salihamidzic, Cristiano Zanetti and Albin Ekdal who plays in midfield. Portuguese midfielder Tiago is out on suspension while Goalkeeper Alex Manninger is also out so veteran custodian Antonio Chimenti acts as back-up for current no. 1 Gigi Buffon.
Take Juventus to win this match and give the 1/2 ball away here.
Cheers and good luck,
