Texans Will Find A Way Against Jacksonville
Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Sunday 6th DEcember 2009 - Kickoff 1pm ET
While most of the sports betting attention will be focused on the Florida v Alabama NCAAF betting, it is moving week in the NFL this Sunday.
As badly as the Houston Texans have played in recent weeks, they are still 5-6 and just one game out of a playoff spot. That was their goal at the beginning of the season and it is still well within reach if they can regain their focus.
That’s a big question, though, as they have taken some fairly bad beats this week. After their kicker let them down in two consecutive defeats, missing a potential game-tying field goal at the end of both contests, the Texans blew a 17-0 lead to the Indianapolis Colts.
Clearly, the Texans have done a lot of things right this year but their failure in the fourth quarters has really been the difference between a potential 10-1 record to a mediocre 5-6, which is where they stand,
This week, they head to Jacksonville to face one of those very teams they’ve choked against. Earlier in the year, the Texans had four shots from the one-yard line to punch in a fourth quarter game-tying touchdown against Jacksonville but failed to do so. They’ll need a better effort if they are to succeed this week.
While the Texans have had some disappointing efforts, so has the team they are facing this week. The Jaguars are coming back after their second discouraging West Coast performance this week and they too are in a similar spot and desperate for a win.
The Texans route to victory in this game should be fairly easy and much more manageable than it ever is against the Colts – that is if they can be consistent. The Texans have to shutdown Jags running back Maurice Jones-Drew and they’ll have a great chance to win.
The Texans run defense is ranked 22nd in the NFL but they have done a better job of late. These numbers are dragged down by some ugly performances in September.
On offense, the Jaguars don’t put any pressure on opposing quarterbacks, which means Matt Schaub should have ample time to throw and make good decisions. The Jags have just 10 sacks this year, which is the fewest among all NFL teams.
THe BETTING VERDICT
After three straight losses, look for the Texans to play like they have nothing to lose and get a big win.
