2010-04-26 - Dundalk vs Bray Wanderers
A Sports Betting Pick by Stephen
Football: League Of Ireland Premier Division
Monday 26th April Kick Off 7.45pm
Second place Dundalk face Bray Wanderers for the second time this season and will be hoping for a repeat of their win over the leagues bottom side. Dundalk have had a magnificent start to the season and only goal difference seperates them from surprise leaders St Patricks Athletic. In fact not many people would have taught that would be the top 2 after the first round of games. However the league is only a quarter way through and there is a long way to go.
Dundalk are on the back of a superb 1-0 victory over Champions Bohemians on Friday night. Although Bohs had much of the possession they rarely threatened the Dundalk goal. Dundalk have also went to Shamrock Rovers and won 2-0 as they complete their best start to the league in a long time. If they win this game it will be the first time they have won 3 home league games in a row in the top flight since 1995.
Bray Wanderers have only 1 point to show from their opening 8 games and are 5 points behind Drogheda who are one place above them. They do have a game in hand but that is against Bohemians and they wont be expected to get anything out of that game. They have also only scored 4 goals, while conceding 15 and only scored once away from home. Their away record at the back end of last season and the start of this season doesnt make for good reading. Since a schock win at Bohs last September they have lost 10 out of 11 away games.
On Friday night they went to Shamrock Rovers and lost 1-0. Rovers led 1-0 at half time and should hav been ahead by much more. Rovers were poor in the second half but Bray couldnt take advantage. However they did make a fight of it towards the end, creating a few half chances after seeing a player sent off but overall it was another very poor performance. Bray were relegated to the First Division and giving a reprieve when Cork City's financial situation saw them relegated instead. However Bray's squad is probably more first division level and will be in for another hard night at Dundalk.
VERDICT
Dundalk at 4/11 to continue their winning ways. A good bet if youre up a few quid and want to go big or to stick in your doubles or trebles
The Pick :
Dundalk 2-0 Bray Wanderers
