Boltons crazy run of excellent result came to a stop last weekend when they went to Manchester City and lost 1-0. The Wanderers will hence come into this one lying 6th in the league table.
After 16 games, Boltons stats show 28 scored, but 23 conceded. They are scoring more than the likes of high flying Tottenham, and they have had to, in order to achieve their high ranking at this point in time, as you really need to bang in a lot in order to make up for having just the 1 clean sheet all season, in Week 1. Blackburn bounced back from the spanking at Old Trafford by thumping Wolves 3-0, to Sam Allardyce's relief. They are in 11th place coming into this one, and have recent head-to-head results giving them cause to feel confident.
Blackburn have not lost to Bolton in time. Years and years actually. Last year, they won both games without conceding. But this year, they have been conceding a lot of goals, 25 in their 16 games, and that means a highscoring Bolton attack have a great chance at revenge, and to bang in a few in the process. Blackburn have lost 5 of their 8 away fixtures too, so on the road, this is a very dodgy fixture for them against the new and improved Owen Coyle Bolton.
Blackburn are scoring goals too, fewer than Bolton, but enough. Pederson is top scorer with 4 this season. The main area of interest in this game will be in the Blackburn box and how the two teams perform there.
