SCOTLAND
So, following a horrible draw and then a hard fought win in what should have been an easy win, Scotland finally got the result we expected, and crashed to a loss against the Czech Republic by a 1-0 scoreline. They return back home now, and will play the best team in their group: current World Champions Spain. Oh, and they're European defending champions as well. I'm just saying.
Forget whatever you hear on the telly with the interviews. Scotland will be pooing their pants as they are off a loss away and know very well how badly the Spaniards are capable of embarrassing them here. They are bound to play a defend first type of game to keep the score decent.
Indeed, Scotland played quite a defensive game in Prague when they should have been attacking a team they had a chance against. Here, he's bound to try and rely on counterattacks, which will lead to Scotland getting blanked, whatever the result.
SPAIN
Played 2, won 2. And with that Spain are top of the group, a position I reckon they shall hold all the way. Like England, they have scored 7 goals so they've not really had many problems up front.
Injury has ruled out the midfield dream team of Cesc Fabregas and Xavi. I'm guessing this, along with the fact Spain is playing this one the road, has led to the quite tasty price for the straight win, and I think it should be snapped up immediately. Fernando Llorenta scored a couple of times last week against Lithuania to get his team the win, and I feel he will be the main threat against a Scotland defence that has a 40 yr. old playing defence.
Ah, Torres is also out, not that it matters at the moment, what with him being sh*te and all that.
BETTING VERDICT
I can't see Scotland scoring. And once Spain bangs in the 2 goals I expect them to, it will be a question of what Scotland decides to do, defend or attack. If they attack, they get drilled. So I'd leave the over/under alone.
Go with the Spanish win, which is available at a generous 1.40 at Pinnacle. You could also go for Spain -1, for better odds, which will return your money in the event of a 1 goal win.
