After a great season last year Paços lost some of their best players: Rondon, Oliveira, David Simao, Pizzi, Maykon just to name a few.
They signed players for this new season mainly from the second portuguese league and a couple of brazilians. Willian a very good striker joins again Paços loaned by Guimaraes. Half of the team is gone so a lot work to do by coach Rui Vitoria.
Paços Ferreira started this new season against V.Setubal and lost 2-1 in a match that V.Setubal dominated although Paços scored first.
Goalkeeper Cacio and defender Coehne were sent off and they are huge missings for the team especially Cacio a good keeper. They did a good pre-season wining seven of their 8 games and scored a total of 29 goals.
Uniao Leiria
Uniao Leiria starts this season with the same coach Pedro Caixinha but with changes in the team mainly in defense and they also lost their best striker Carlao. T
hey made a few good signings like Andre Almeida loaned by Benfica, Hugo Alcantara with a lot of 1st division experience, Maykon one of the best Paços player last season and Bruno Moraes, striker ex-Naval ex-Porto.
In Uniao Leiria's first game in the league they lost at home 1-2 against Academica. after scoring first. The coach was really upset at the end of the game criticizing the team and the new signings.
In the pre-season Leiria played 6 games 3W-2D-1L.
Last year result was a 1-1 draw and in the last ten games 2W-4D-4L for Paços.

Paços comes to this game with some forced changes in defense but very motivated to win in front of their crowd. Coach Vitoria, and recognized that the team still needs some time to be at their best, but Paços still keeps their identity which is an offensive minded team.
