The San Diego Padres continue their fight for first place in the NL West. They turn to future Hall of Famer Greg Maddux tonight.
And, Maddux continues to sparkle for the Padres. Not only has Maddux won five straight for San Diego, but the crafty veteran has given up more than two runs just once in his last seven starts.
Moreover, Maddux has not allowed even one walk during those last seven starts.
The Dodgers scratched Chad Billingsley for this start and now go with lefty David Wells. Wells has pitched great for the Dodgers after being released by these same Padres.
Neither club has much hitting but lots of pitching.
