2008-05-03 - Fulham F.C vs Birmingham City
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Both these sides enter this match as they occupy a place in the bottom three of the Premiership. Birmingham will be kicking themselves at how they let a two goal slip against Liverpool in their last home match and are one points away from safety and are two ahead of today’s opponents in Fulham.
Birmingham could be relegated today itself should they get beaten here and Bolton and Reading win their matches. Their cause has not been helped by the fact that they have not won away from home in five months since beating Tottenham 3-2 at White Hart Lane.
The visitors are expected to give right-back Stephen Kelly and midfielder Mehdi Nafti late fitness test before they finalise their side. Kelly is doubtful with a knee injury while Nafti is doubtful with a thigh strain. Frank Queudrue could take over from Kelly if he fails to recover on time while club captain Damien Johnson is available to return in midfield after serving a three match ban for his sending off at Wigan earlier last month.
Fulham came back from 2-0 down to beat Manchester City 3-2 in their last match and they had to thank Diomansy Kamara for his performance which sparked the win. That result means that Fulham still has a chance to escape relegation as there is a three point gap between them and Reading and a third win in four games could edge them out of the relegation zone for the first time since 26th December.
However, a defeat or a draw here could be the end for them here if teams above them gets a win. They will be at full strength here and Hodgson could give Diomansy Kamara a start here after his excellent performance against City which gives them a chance to stay in the Premiership still.
However, I will go for this match to end in a draw and accept the ¼ ball here.
Cheers and good luck,
