Macháč’s 2025 campaign was also disrupted by physical setbacks, including six match retirements and several early exits. Even so, his underlying quality still surfaced. He captured his maiden ATP title in Acapulco and broke into the top 20 for the first time, confirming his level when healthy.
Early signs in 2026 suggest he has recovered well. After a tight three-set loss to Jiří Lehečka in Brisbane, Macháč found form in Adelaide, defeating Tommy Paul and Ugo Humbert en route to the title and re-establishing top-20 momentum.
Macháč leads the head-to-head 1–0, having fought back from a set down to beat Dimitrov in Vienna in 2024. He has also been reliable at majors, holding a strong recent first-round Slam record.
