Blackpool take on relegation-haunted Crystal Palace at their Bloomfield Road ground on Saturday, knowing they must take all three points on offer to maintain their challenge for a play-off berth.

This is certainly a realistic expectation as the Tangerines have won their last three at home on the trot, dispatching the likes of former Premiership sides Middlesbrough & Reading both 2-0, followed by sinking Ipswich Town 1-0, keeping clean sheets in the process.

Blackpool’s home record stands at a healthy 10-4-4 33/17, with midfielder Charlie Adam (13 goals, 7 assists) leading the way.

They do, however, also possess key match-winners in the shape of strikers Brett Ormerod (7 goals) & Ben Burgess (4goals), along with Gary Taylor-Fletcher (5 goals) and the evergreen Jason Euell (4goals).

Goals can and do come from various areas of the squad and this will bode well for Blackpool today I feel.

Today’s visitors Crystal Palace have had something of a revival in recent weeks, but when you look at the results a little closer, then there’s still room for optimism of a Blackpool win here.

Palace are unbeaten in their last three away games, but the wins have been over fellow strugglers Plymouth Argyle 1-0 and Scunthorpe United 2-1, drawing the last two with Doncaster Rovers 1-1 and Barnsley 0-0.

Palace’s away record of 5-8-4 17/17 would hardly strike fear into their opponents, but they can be awkward customers and grab a point here and there.

Their main threats are Darren Ambrose (12 goals and 5 assists) and striker Alan Lee (5 goals,4 assists).

The Betting Verdict :

IF Blackpool can keep Ambrose and Lee quiet, then Blackpool should have enough creativity and firepower to win this in front of their home crowd.
