Just like last weeks Athletic v Valencia match, this one looks utterly unpredictable.
Athletic, a good home side, have lost their last four matches in a row, having won four in a row before that.
Sevilla have turned their form around in recent weeks but are still miles away from the side that excited us all 2 or 3 years ago. They are that most annoying of sides that win when they should lose and lose when they should win.
The head to heads throw up an interesting pointer. Whilst both sides are renowned strong home/weak away clubs, Sevilla unexpectedly have the better of the games at San Mames including a 4-0 rout here last season.
6 away wins in the last 12 meetings, compared to 3 home wins, is in marked contrast to Valencia (who won last week here) where the head to heads were reversed.
So prices of 2.5 for Athletic doesnt tempt this punter.
The visitors look the value call, but there is nothing to suggest Sevilla can be trusted yet. With this intrinsic uncertainty in mind we should switch our attention to the side markets.
Both these sides score goals. The two sides are the 4th and 6th highest scorers in this division averaging around 1.5 goals/game each.
At the other end of the pitch both sides concede at pretty much the same rate.
This game has gone over 2.5 goals in three of the last four meetings and with both sides scoring and conceding with equal measure there is plenty of reason to expect this trend to continue this weekend.
