Manchester United
2nd in the table United are picking up their form. Ferguson's men have 12 points from 5 played having lost their first game of the season. Since that defeat it's 4 wins from 4 and with Rooney fit again going forward they will be even stronger.
Everton have inflicted the only defeat on United in a 1-0 win at Goodison. Ferguson's men have responded with 4 league wins against Fulham (3-2), Southampton (2-3), Wigan (4-0) and Liverpool (1-2).
At Old Trafford United have won their last 3 and a staggering 10 wins from 11! Bogey team Everton are the only side to take something from Old Trafford since December 2011 and to do so they needed 4 goals!
6 of the last 7 home wins have been to nil but with Vidic now out for a few months it's a bet that I will avoid on United in the upcoming fixtures. The Serbian is a warrior and commands the back 4 without him I can't trust United defensively against a side like Spurs.
Tottenham
AVB has now won back to back games to move Spurs up into 8th with 8 points from their 5 played. After a rocky start hopefully Spurs can move on up the league, unfortunately for them just as they have some momentum they visit Old Trafford.
The away form is very erratic with 1 win in the last 3. Going further back it's 2 wins from 12 having recorded wins over soon to be relegated Bolton (1-4) and Reading (1-3) last time out.
Spurs have no clean sheets in 5 straight away games now and that's a worry as they enter Old Trafford. The positive is that they have found the net in their last 4 and over this period are averaging over 2 goals for a game.
Spurs have a horrific record at Old Trafford losing their last 6 here with the last to to nil. In fact 4 of their last 6 have ended to nil and that's a worry as Spurs just don't seem to get results at this ground.
Betting Verdict
United are favourites here and I fully expect them to win this game. At 1.60 odd I think their price is fair and if you like your odds on shots this one should oblige.
I will go for an adventurous bet that hopefully doesn't bite me in the back side. I will take the draw half time and United Full time bet at a juicy price of 4.60.
Spurs have a terrible record at United but they have drawn the first half in 7 of their last 10 away at top 4/champions league sides. United have no Vidic which is huge and whilst Rooney is back he may not be 100% match fit given his absence.
Spurs have now won the last 2 and look to be playing some decent football again. I'm hoping they can contain the hosts for 45 minutes before the most likely winner comes from United.
In 6 of the last 9 United home games against sides ranked in the top half of the table the second half has had the most goals. Hopefully this continues on Saturday evening where I envisage a 0-0 at half time and then a 1-0 or 2-0 full time scoreline.
Good Luck
