TSG Hoffenheim's beyond-terrible season is about to end. They are finishing just above the drop line, fourth from the bottom, in 15th place.
Last week’s 2-2 draw against Wolfsburg was their fourth winless match in a row (two defeats, two draws), and they are also set for many changes this summer.
A new coach and several players departing and arriving are very likely, but the board is now under pressure after splashing a lot of money last year and still just barely avoiding the drop.
TSG Hoffenheim is on a downward trend year after year, and to me, they look very likely to drop out in one of the next few seasons, perhaps even in the next one.
TSG Hoffenheim may be finishing this season without winning for several weeks, but a positive thing is that they have scored quite a few goals recently. They scored twice or more in each of their last five Bundesliga games.
Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich routinely won 2-0 against Borussia Mönchengladbach last week and celebrated the German Bundesliga title in front of their fans in Munich. It was a superb season for them, and they have been consistently dominant since last August.
Last week’s win was Bayern Munich’s fourth in the last six Bundesliga games and their seventh straight match in which they scored twice or more.
The Bavarians have no significant absentees for this match, but coach Kompany will likely rotate most of the starting line-up.
The Betting Verdict
Bayern Munich demolished TSG Hoffenheim 5-0 in their first duel this season, but the last time they visited Sinsheim (exactly a year ago), they lost 4-2.
Both teams will play with mixed lineups, which makes this game a bit unpredictable. This is especially true because Bayern Munich is relaxed, and their players' bellies are full of beer after celebrating for days after winning the title last weekend.
Bayern Munich are the likely winners, but I would not back them at low and risky odds. Instead, I would go with goals here, and believe we will see at least four scored.
