The struggles of Dundee have allowed the likes of Alloa Athletic to take control of this Group and Airdrieonians have every chance of joining the leaders with 9 points on the board.

This would actually mean Airdrieonians have made it through to the Second Round in three seasons in a row, which is a big achievement considering they have always been outside the top Seed when the draw for the Group Stage has been made. Focus is key for the team to continue the early momentum that has been picked up, but Airdrieonians will certainly travel to Gayfield Park with real confidence.
League One Montrose were comfortable home winners over Bonnyrigg Rose and they still have a chance of finishing in the top two in this Group, although that would mean rounding out the section with consecutive upsets.
