SC Heerenveen
Heerenveen has been up and down lately, but the double confrontation at VVV Venlo (Eredivisie and cup) brought them two victories.
In the latter one, the cup match, Heerenveen already led 2-0 after 20 minutes and they weren’t brought in any kind of trouble in the remainder of the match. Star player Assaidi was rested but this was no problem for Heerenveen, who cruised and set their minds on the upcoming fixture.
All sorts of results for Heerenveen already in their first three home matches, with a draw against NEC (2-2), a loss against Twente (5-1) and a victory against Groningen (3-0). The situation at Heerenveen seems to improve, where manager Jans has found the chance to bring a bit of rest in the team, after a lot of commotion.
Heracles Almelo
Heracles has a small squad, which can be a problem in the later stage of the season. But for now they are playing well as they’ve been known for the last couple of seasons.
Away from home Heracles collected 2 points out of a possible 9, with draws against RKC and Utrecht (both 2-2) and a loss at NEC (2-1). In the cup match against amateurs JVC Cuijk they had some problems, they managed to win 1-0 but the opportunistic game of their opponents gave them some hard moments.
While Heracles played a very good passing game at Utrecht in their last league match, they didn’t reward their superior positional play with a victory, as they only scored twice and weren’t tight enough at the back conceding two.
That has been Heracles main problem, as they conced in all of their 6 matches, and are on 11 conceded goals already. When they wanna improve on their points, they will have to work on their defensive game.
The Betting Verdict
Usually I think about taking goal scoring bets when Heerenveen play at home. They are known for spectacular home matches and goalfests, and in this particular match over is my choice even more.
Since Heracles went up to the Eredivisie, all 6 matches between the two sides were 3 or more goals, with the 9-0 in 2007 as record-breaker.
In the current situation both clubs have their accent on the offense, and their problems at the back. All 6 forwards that will be on the pitch can be decisive and score a goal by an individiual action, and this match will be showing the defensive worries if they play as usual.
Coral offers 2.10 for over 3.5 goals where others are around evens, a good offer.
