PREVIEW
Yesterdays game ended 1-0 to the Kansas City Royals but I feel they could well score a bunch today. There is a clear pitching mismatch and the home team look like the pick.
The Twins are starting Nick Blackburn, who is 1-4 with an ugly 8.37ERA. He is only just back from injury, having given up 4 runs in 6 innings of rehab games. Prior to that he was hammered around, giving up 16 runs in just 13 innings.
The Royals pitcher, Felipe Paulino, is red hot. He checks in with a 3-1 mark and a 1.70ERA that has me a little moist between the legs. Four of his first 6 starts saw him blank the opposition, and he comes in having not given up a run in 6 innings against Oakland.
This season, Paulino has started 3 games at home, and has yet to give up a run, meaning a 0.00ERA when pitching in front of the Royals fans!
I don't trust Minnesota to score on the road here against an ace pitcher like that. The Twins were blanked yesterday by Chen, and could well struggle again tonight.
