Aston Villa striker Nathan Delfouneso will boost manager Lambert's attacking options as he has been passed fit to start this match.
The forward missed last weekend's Premier League opening defeat against the Hammers with a thigh problem and is set to start this time round. Meanwhile, defender Chris Herd has also been included in the side.
However, Striker Gabriel Agbonlahor (knee), defender Richard Dunne (groin) and winger Marc Albrighton (foot) are still sidelined while youngster Samir Carruthers has an ankle problem.
