Granada sit 17th, just outside the relegation zone thanks to a win in their last match, at home by a 2-1 score against Celta Vigo. It was their first 3 points of the season and it was much needed. But this is still a seriously poor travelling team and I have to suggest a bet on the hosts, who are all the way up in 5th!
Granada have won 1, lost 1 and drawn 1 at home, but in the 3 away games they have precisely 0 points. They also have 0 goals, losing 6-0 on aggregate to Vallecano, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Perhaps the high status of those last 2 are why they are not as big outsiders as I make them, but I still think the performances were poor and as such they are the likely losers here.
They're going to have their work cut out for them, having netted just 4 goals this season, half of which came in their last game. Mallorca don't concede much, just 4 through 6 games, and it's a testament to their stingy defence that they have done so while facing more shots than any other team so far.
Mallorca are now on a great run at home, winning 6 straight home league games. No fewer than 4 of those matches have come by literally the slimmest of margins, 1-0, and that I feel is another reason why Mallorca are being priced as high as they are. You'd think they would be shorter, considering this is 5th placed team at home facing 17th placed team losing all 3 away games without scoring.
Bear in mind that Mallorca won their last 2 home games without conceding, beating Sociedad 1-0 but earning an impressive 2-0 victory over Valencia very recently.
BETTING VERDICT
I think the win will be a narrow one, 1-0 or possibly 2-0 if Granada get desperate late on. The home win is my pick here but you should keep bets small, just in case.
