Otelul Galati will be coming into this match after an important away victory against champions CFR Cluj, a result that helped them to put some distance between them and the drop zone.
The best news for Otelul’s fans is that coach Petre Grigoras finally agreed to sign a contract with them, he was in charge since January, but he only came to an agreement with the club earlier this week.
Many feared that Otelul Galati may be heading to Liga 2 after just two years from winning the title in Romania, but I don’t think there is reason to worry anymore, not with Petre Grigoras on their bench.
I expect Otelul to get back to their winning ways and finish the season somewhere in mid-table, but they have some work to get there, they are currently 12th with just 23 points collected so far.

The long winter break and the arrival of new coach Cristi Pustai seemed to have a positive effect on Pandurii, the team from Targu Jiu collected 6 points from their two games played since the second part of the championship kicked off.
Pandurii kept their unbeaten home record against Vaslui last weekend, securing a 2-1 win over the team that was considered to be the favorite to finish second at the end of the season.
Cristi Pustai’s side will look to improve their away record as well, Pandurii holds a decent 5-2-4 record on the road, but they have a negative goal balance (-5), only scoring 10 goals so far.
It won’t be easy though, Otelul proved to be a tough opponent for Pandurii when travelling to Galati, they haven’t won any of their last seven games played there.

Otelul Galati’s advantage will be that their coach Petre Grigoras joined them this winter after a long spell at Pandurii Targu Jiu, so he should know pretty much everything about his former team.
Pandurii is a solid squad, hence their position on the table, but I only back them when playing at home, there is a big difference between their performances depending on where the game is played.
The team from Targu Jiu suffered some heavy defeats on the road this season like the ones against Petrolul (0-4), Dinamo Bucuresti (0-3) or Astra Giurgiu (1-4) and they’ve also lost five of their last seven games in Galati, the other two ending in draws.
