This could be a big weekend for Celtic, but one that most would have been expecting before a ball had been kicked back in August. One more point for the club from Glasgow will give them the Scottish Premier League title and that was always going to be the case when Rangers were demoted to the third division in Scotland.
It could have been a celebration for Celtic already, but Motherwell beat Dundee United on Friday night to put the home side in a position where a point would secure the title. They will feel confident in being able to do that having lost just 2 of their 17 home games so far this season, while recent form is certainly pointing to a Celtic win.
Since a home loss to Inverness, Celtic have won 10 straight games at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premier League, while the freedom of a big lead in the table has allowed them to play without fear. That freedom has seen Celtic score at least 3 goals in 8 of their last 9 games at Celtic Park in the League.
They won't take Inverness lightly considering one of their two losses here have come to that side, while they are also 3rd in the table and look good for a place in Europe next season. They also have a solid 6-7-3 away record, scoring 28 goals and conceding 27 in those games.
Inverness are unbeaten in their last 4 away games in the Premier League, but they did suffer back to back defeats on their travels before this run. One of those saw Inverness concede three goals in a comfortable loss at 2nd placed Motherwell.
Celtic may have lost their only home game against Inverness this season, but they have recorded 2 comfortable away wins against them and scored heavily.
Prediction
I don't think this will be an easy game for Celtic, but they are scoring plenty of goals at the moment and I think it may be a good chance, at 2.30, to back them to continue their recent run and score at least 3 goals.
Inverness have been tougher on their travels as shown by their win here earlier in the season, but their two home games against Celtic have seen them concede at least 3 in each and so backing the home side to do so once again looks the call.
