19th April 2017 – Kickoff time 20:45
Introduction:
The last time they were in this position, Barcelona managed to come back from four goals down to beat PSG in the round of 16 and now can they do something similar when they welcome the visit of Juventus when they need to score only 3 goals rather then four compared to last time.
In the first leg Juventus won by 3-0 in Turin and now in order for them to reach the semi finals, they need to win by at least four-goal difference, which is something that Barcelona are capable of doing at the Nou Camp. On the other hand many do believe that Juventus will be a much difficult opponent and are more tough and discipline compared to PSG and the situation would be much harder if they conceded a goal.
FC Barcelona
Juventus won the first leg in Turin by 3-0 to exact revenge for their final Champions' League defeat which they lost 2 years ago. Now Barcelona faces an uphill task for the second time if they are to sgtay in the competition. They did proved against PSG that they can comeback if they wanted to, especially with the home crowd support, but now it will be much harder considering that Juventus have a much tougher defence.
Regardless coach Enrique has stressed they would go all out to attack from the start regardless that at the same time they will be exposed to Juventus counter attacks. They will rely on the likes of Messi, Suarez and Neymar to get the goals here. They will also welcome the services of Busquets whose suspension has ended. However out of the side are the likes of defenders Vidal and Mascherano, and midfielders Rafinha and Turan.
Juventus
Juventus will start this match under less pressure as they hold a three goals advantage from the first leg. No doubt that in the first leg coach Allegri had done a good job when he put the Barcelona's defenders under pressure from the very beginning of the match, and that allowed Dybala to scored two goals in the first half. In the second half stopper Chiellini scored a header following a free-kick, and this goes to show they can be dangerous from set pieces also.
Now Juventus will rely mostly on counter-attacks and set pieces which is why Allegri rested most of their regular players in their league match last weekend. Still they managed to beat Pescara by 2-0 and are closing in on their sixth consecutive Scudetto. As things currently stand they have eight points more than second-placed Roma. Their only casualty from this match will be striker Pjaca who also missed the first leg due to injuries.
Past Meetings:
They met in the final of the Champions League in Berlin two years ago in which Barcelona won by 3-1.
