Borussia Dortmund won 5 of their last 6 Bundesliga games, including their last game against Vfb Stuttgart with 2-1. Their overall form is excellent, although they got eliminated from the Champions League last midweek, after losing 3-1 against Sporting Lisbon.
Now Borussia Dortmund can focus on the battle in the Bundesliga, where they are just one point behind leaders Bayern Munich coming into this weekend.
The absence of Erling Haaland did not hurt Borussia Dortmund much, as several other players stepped up. Marco Reus, Thorgan Hazard, Stefan Tigges, Emre Can, and Mats Hummels all scored goals in Haaland’s absence. Hazard is now out, however, recovering from an injury. Also, left-back Raphael Guerreiro suffered a muscle injury while warming up for the match against Sporting Lisbon last midweek, and is out of contention for this match.
