2022-05-02 - Eastleigh vs Halifax

Football : National League

Monday 2nd May 2022, 1500hrs
With just three matches remaining of this National League season for both Eastleigh and Halifax, the hosts have already assured their non-league top flight status but Halifax are still in with a shout of achieving automatic promotion.
It’s been a disappointing campaign for Eastleigh who find themselves in the lower reaches of the National League, sitting in a lowly 19th place but with an important 11-point cushion under their belts above the bottom three, The Spitfires are at least safe for another season.
However, results have been poor for the south coast side who have managed to capture just two wins out of their last 21 matches overall, whilst also losing 14 of these games, so the prospects of a home win here seem slim at best.
Eastleigh have also lost their last four home games on the trot with defeats incurred against Dagenham, Stockport County, Bromley and Barnet.
Halifax sit in 3rd spot and are just five points behind the league leaders, Stockport County although Stockport do have a game in hand over The Shaymen and still look to be in the box seat to grab the automatic promotion spot.
Nevertheless, with just three defeats out of their last 16 matches overall in the National League, Halifax look to be in good shape to grab a favourable result at Eastleigh on Monday afternoon and they’ll be keen to improve results on the road as well.
Halifax have won just two of their last 10 games on their travels but this upcoming trip to Eastleigh represents a great opportunity to redeem themselves.
The Betting Verdict
In the earlier corresponding fixture, Halifax thumped Eastleigh 4-0 and the visitors look set for further success here as well.
