A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Aston Villa will be looking to leapfrogged Everton into fifth spot when they take on Wigan at Villa Park while the visitors will be looking to confirm their status in the Premiership next season.
Aston Villa managed a 2-2 draw with Everton in their last match and at the moment they are three points behind Everton who do not play until Sunday. They will be looking to put the pressure on David Moyes men with a win here as Everton take on Arsenal on Super Sunday. A win for Martin O Neil’s boys would see them go above Everton on goal difference and O' Neil is expected to keep faith in the same team that drew with Everton last week.
The only change could be in the form of Olof Mellberg who is struggling with a virus ahead of what could be his last game at Villa Park. Mellberg will be joining Juventus next season after seven years with Aston Villa so he will be desperate to play his last match at home. He has however missed training due to illness and is a big doubt here together with Craig Gardner.
Gardner is out with a thigh injury which means that Nigel Reo-Coker could slot in on the right hand of defense. Apart from those two, O Neil has no other injury concerns and will go looking for the goals after his side has managed 17 goals in four games.
For the visitors Wigan, a win would definitely guarantee them Premiership survival but even a draw or defeat could be enough for them if other results goes their way. As it stands now they are 5 points ahead of Birmingham who occupies the final relegation spot. They will hope that other teams below them do not win matches as their final game will be against Manchester United who are going for the title.
Steve Bruce will wait to see if Emile Heskey is fit to start as he was taken out with an ankle injury in the goalless draw at home to Reading. If Heskey does not recover in time then Marlon King will partner Marcus Bent in attack.
Meanwhile Mario Melchiot is out for the season after suffering a groin injury against Reading. Ryan Taylor will fill in the gap and play in right back position. Kevin Kilbane will start at the left back role as Erik Edman is also another casualty here.
Take Aston Villa to win this match and give the 1 ball away here.
Cheers and good luck,
