Chelsea
Another win in the UEFA Conference League has given Chelsea a huge advantage as they bid to make the Quarter Final of a competition that the have been tagged as big favourites to win all season. Enzo Maresca could ease any concerns about his management with silverware, but the real judgement will be on Chelsea's final Premier League position.
Not many tipped Chelsea as a top four team back in August, but they are 5th in the Premier League table and earning a spot in the Champions League is the ambition in March. The Blues have a 7-4-2 record at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League where they have scored 26 goals and conceded 15.
Chelsea have won consecutive fixtures in all competitions, while they have won half of their last 6 Premier League games. However, the problem for Chelsea is that they have been beaten in the other half of those League fixtures played. The home form has picked up and Chelsea have won 3 Premier League games in a row at Stamford Bridge.
Malo Gusto is considered a major doubt having suffered an injury on Thursday.
Leicester City
While the majority of fans lay the blame for Leicester City's season squarely at the feet of their Sporting Director, there is a feeling that something needs to change in the managerial department if the team are going to find a way to avoid the drop. Ruud van Nistelrooy has overseen some big results, but Leicester City have piled up the losses under the Dutchman and their chances of avoiding the drop look slim on their current path.
The Foxes are 19th in the Premier League table and 5 points from safety, although there is still time to turn things around. A 2-2-9 record away from the King Power Stadium offers little encouragement and Leicester City have scored 14 goals, but conceded 34 in those matches.
Leicester City won at Tottenham Hotspur at the end of January, but they have lost 5 games in a row in all competitions since that upset. The side have lost 8 of their last 9 away games in all competitions, including the last 3 in a row.
Ricardo Pereira is hoping to be involved for the away team.
Head to Head
Chelsea secured a 1-2 win at the King Power Stadium earlier this season.
The Blues have won 3 of their last 4 home games against Leicester City.
Prediction
Momentum is with Chelsea having beaten Southampton and Copenhagen in consecutive matches and Enzo Maresca will be expecting his team to keep things ticking over on Sunday.
A win over Leicester City will move Chelsea back into the top four of the Premier League table and it will give the squad a boost during a time where consistency has been difficult to find.
They do have a big game next week at the Emirates Stadium, so Chelsea will want to keep things rolling in a positive direction and the goals that the team are scoring will give them the edge.
They crushed Southampton here in the last Premier League game and Chelsea will expect to get the better of Leicester City, who have been struggling to find positive results.
Ruud van Nistelrooy has had plenty of time to prepare for this game and he will be hoping the players can execute his plan.
However, it has been tough for the Dutchman to get his players producing anything consistently and the goals that Leicester City have conceded have made it very difficult to put the positive results together. They have struggled for balance and Leicester City will find it tough to contain the Chelsea attack.
Leicester City will look to get forward and challenge this Chelsea defence that is far from the most solid, but ultimately all the signs point to a comfortable home win.
There have been some inconsistency from Chelsea in the final third, especially without some of their key striking options, but they found plenty of goals against Southampton and the feeling is that the home team will be far too good for Leicester City when all is said and done on Sunday afternoon.
