Auxerre slumped to a third defeat in four games in the French top flight last weekend when the hosts were dealt a disappointing 2-1 loss at home to Le Havre but Auxerre at least have another chance to redeem themselves on Saturday night when they entertain lowly Nantes at their Stade de l'Abbé Deschamps.
Recent defeats at the hands of Lyon, Lille and Le Havre respectively have prevented Auxerre from lifting themselves further up the Ligue 1 table as the hosts remain sitting in a mid-table position in 10th place.
Results overall on home soil this season though will still give Auxerre some encouragement as the hosts have suffered just three losses in their last 14 home games, picking up six wins and being involved in five draws as well.
Nantes find themselves sitting just one league position and one point above the relegation play-off spot ahead of this upcoming trip to take on Auxerre at the Stade de l'Abbé Deschamps after failing to win any of their last four games overall.
Points picked up against PSG and Toulouse, both of which were at home, have been overshadowed by defeats at the hands of Rennes and Angers, while the bigger picture shows Nantes have managed to capture just four wins within their previous 18 matches in Ligue 1.
Wins against Reims, Lens, Lille and Nice have also been offset by slipping to eight defeats as the visitors just can’t seem to be able to pull away from the relegation zone.
Results away from home have also been poor as Nantes have collected just two wins in their last 14 outings on the road, slipping to eight losses in the process.

Given Nantes’ poor form away from home, Auxerre should at least avoid defeat here.
