Monaco have seemingly solidified their form and results in recent weeks in the French top flight after posting wins against Marseille and Saint-Etienne along with picking up useful points in draws with Strasbourg and Le Havre, which have helped the hosts sustain their bid for a top three finish and Champions League football next season.
Following a period of instability which saw Monaco pick up just three wins from their preceding nine wins which also included slipping to four defeats as well, but Adi Hütter’s side have since steadied the ship somewhat by losing just once in their last nine games overall.
That rare defeat came in the shape of a 2-1 loss away from home at Brest but otherwise Monaco have remained firm by picking up five wins within this period which includes wins on home soil against Reims, Nice and Marseille respectively.
Lyon find themselves outside of the top six spots in the Ligue 1 table having stumbled to two defeats within their last three games; a comprehensive 4-1 home win against Rennes has been overshadowed by losses at the hands of Saint-Etienne and Lens, placing the visitors three points shy of the European spots.
However, Lyon will still feel they stand a decent chance of a result at the Stade Louis-II on Saturday evening as Paulo Fonseca’s side have collected eight wins within their last 12 matches overall in the domestic top flight.
Results away from home though have been somewhat modest by comparison as Lyon have registered just three wins from their previous nine outings on the road, and having slipped to five defeats in the process as well, the visitors may well have their work cut out in this encounter.
