Dunfermline Athletic halted a worrying run of three defeats on the trot last time out in the Scottish Championship when The Pars earned a point by way of a 0-0 draw at home with Queen’s Park and the hosts will hold home advantage once again on Friday night when they entertain Raith Rovers at East End Park.
Dunfermline will be keen to turn their recent form around though on Friday night as Neil Lennon’s side have managed to capture just one win from their last seven games in the Scottish second tier which came in the shape of a rousing 5-0 win away from home at Arbroath.
However, recent losses at the hands of St Johnstone, Ayr United and Partick Thistle suggest a straight win for Dunfermline may be out of reach for the hosts here, but a point looks likely.
Raith Rovers slipped to a second defeat on the trot in the Championship last weekend when they were dealt a 2-0 loss at home to Ayr United which followed on from a 2-0 defeat away from home at Ross County, so the visitors’ prospects are not looking particularly encouraging.
Barry Robson’s side currently occupy 5th place in the Championship table having produced a mixed bag of results so far this season as the visitors have claimed four wins, two draws as well as four losses.
Having lost three of their last five matches overall though in the domestic second tier, The Rovers look to have their work cut out if they are to pick up all three points at East End Park on Friday night.
