Playing in European Football does stretch every squad in the English Premier League and Crystal Palace are facing a much busier December than ever before. Crystal Palace had been unbeaten in 5 games in all competitions and had won 4 of those, but they were punished for their wastefulness in the 2-1 defeat at Strasbourg on Thursday evening. The side had beaten Brentford and AZ Alkmaar in consecutive home games, but Crystal Palace were held to a goalless draw most recently at Selhurst Park by rivals Brighton.
Borna Sosa has been ruled out, but Will Hughes is hoping to be available after being withdrawn at Strasbourg. Oliver Glasner has been keeping changes to a minimum to build momentum, but Adam Wharton and Chris Richards should be restored to starting roles.
Manchester United
The opening ten minutes at Old Trafford on Monday night were incredibly flat and things did not really get much better for Manchester United even after Everton were reduced to ten men very early into the game. No one should be surprised that Manchester United dominated the shot count, but they did not create enough big chances and the unbeaten run came to an end in the 0-1 defeat.
Once again there have to be questions about a manager who has had plenty more downs than ups in his twelve months in charge and Ruben Amorim will need a positive reaction. There was a chance that Manchester United could have finished in the top four if they had beaten Everton, but instead they are 10th in the standings at the end of the latest round of fixtures. The side have a 1-3-2 away record where they have scored 8 goals, but conceded 12.
Manchester United had been unbeaten in 5 Premier League games before the 0-1 loss to Everton, although the flip side is that they have now failed to win any of the last 3. They are unbeaten in 3 away Premier League games, but Manchester United have needed late goals to salvage draws at Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur, despite scoring first in both.
Harry Maguire, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko are all expected to miss out.

If they had not been playing in France on Thursday night, Crystal Palace might have looked one of the standout prices of the Premier League weekend to beat a Manchester United team without two of the three forward signings made in the summer.
Both Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko missed out on Monday and Manchester United struggled to find the intensity and composure needed in the final third against ten man Everton.
That performance is a real worry, especially in the final third, and Manchester United will travel to South London knowing they have conceded plenty of away goals this season. The defensive vulnerabilities have seen them chasing late levellers at Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur already this month, even though Manchester United led both 0-1 at half time, and there is a weak mentality when they do concede.
Crystal Palace are quietly up into 5th place in the Premier League table, although draws have been holding them back.
It has been the case at Selhurst Park where 4 of the 6 League games played have ended with the points shared out, while Crystal Palace are really being tested by having to play the Thursday-Sunday schedule now they are participating in UEFA competition for the first time.
You cannot ignore the fact that 3 Conference League Group matches have been played and Crystal Palace have yet to win following one of those- they have only scored a single goal and the side have run out of gas, which leaves them a little vulnerable.
However, some of the problems have come about due to a lack of composure in the final third and Oliver Glasner has called on the Crystal Palace board to address that in the January transfer window.

The expectation is that home team could run out of legs in the latter stages of the fixture, but Crystal Palace may already have done enough to earn the three points (or the win with some bookmakers) and at odds against, The Eagles look the right side, as much as that pains to say.
