We are almost at the halfway point of this season, and it’s the same old story with Werder Bremen – occasional good impression, mostly poor defending, weak strikers, mediocre season.
They sit 10th, six points above the relegation zone, and are poised to battle against relegation again. Werder Bremen is now winless in five games, losing three and drawing two.
Werder Bremen have scored just 18 goals in 15 games so far and are in a desperate search for a striker, but latest reports say they are not anywhere near close to signing a forward.
TSG Hoffenheim
TSG Hoffenheim has dramatically turned things around since the end of last season. They battled against relegation in their previous campaign, but are now Champions League contenders.
Impressively, TSG Hoffenheim have lost only once in their last nine Bundesliga matches, with that defeat coming at the hands of Borussia Dortmund. During that excellent run, TSG Hoffenheim allowed just eight goals (the fewest in the Bundesliga), and is just a couple of points behind fourth RB Leipzig.
TSG Hoffenheim is also the second-best away team in Germany, but is travelling to Bremen winless in three road games, drawing twice.
The Betting Verdict
Werder Bremen is struggling in the attacking department and still can’t find a striker to sign. The attack is incredibly weak, and they do not look good enough to me to beat TSG Hoffenheim.
The visitors have been impressive over the last couple of months, and I expect them to secure an away win in Bremen.
