Haiti head into their final World Cup warm-up fixture in confident mood as they prepare for just their second appearance on football’s biggest stage and their first since 1974 as Sebastien Migne’s side successfully navigated two rounds of CONCACAF qualifying, winning six of their 10 matches to secure a place at this summer’s tournament.
Recent results suggest Haiti are building momentum at the right time despite a narrow defeat to Tunisia, they earned a respectable draw against Iceland during March’s international break and then returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion with a 4-0 victory over New Zealand.
That performance will have caught the attention of their upcoming Group C opponents, particularly Scotland, who face Haiti in their tournament opener. Les Grenadiers have also impressed defensively of late, keeping four clean sheets in their last seven matches while showing increasing confidence in attack.
Peru arrive in a very different position. Despite being ranked significantly higher than Haiti, they failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup after a disappointing CONMEBOL campaign that yielded just two wins from 18 matches.
Scoring goals also proved a major issue throughout qualification for La Bicolor, although there have been some signs of improvement in recent friendlies, hitting the back of the net in five of their last six international friendlies.
The South Americans remain a work in progress under new boss Mano Menezes, however. Since his appointment in January, Peru are still searching for a first victory, following a defeat to Senegal and a draw with Honduras in which they conceded a stoppage-time equaliser.

With confidence high and the World Cup fast approaching, Haiti will be eager to maintain their positive momentum and although Peru possess greater pedigree, their ongoing transition and struggles in front of goal could leave the door open for an ambitious Haitian side capable of finishing their preparations on a high.
