TSG Hoffenheim will be looking to put last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at Köln behind them. They led twice but ultimately left empty-handed after Thijs Dallinga’s late double, with Max Moerstedt also missing a penalty in the second half.
Their penalty miss in that match ended an extraordinary run from the spot: TSG Hoffenheim had converted their previous 22 Bundesliga penalties, a streak that was still intact when they beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in April with two Andrej Kramarić penalties.
The bigger positive is that TSG Hoffenheim created enough going forward to score twice away from home, and they have already shown they can cause Borussia Dortmund problems at home.
TSG Hoffenheim are slight outsiders this time – they won their last home game against Borussia Dortmund, but suffered five straight home defeats against them before that win.

Borussia Dortmund made a solid start to the new Bundesliga campaign, beating Hamburger SV 2-0 at home. They then followed that up with a 0-5 DFB-Pokal win over HEBC Hamburg, so Niko Kovač’s side arrive in Sinsheim with two clean-sheet wins behind them.
There is some concern in defense, though. Nico Schlotterbeck is out with an ankle problem, while Samuel Inácio is suspended, and new signing Giannis Konstantelias suffered a serious knee injury against Hamburg.
Borussia Dortmund have since added Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri on loan, and he could make his debut here.
The Betting Verdict
Borussia Dortmund deserve to be favorites, but this is not an easy away game.
TSG Hoffenheim beat them here only a few months ago and have enough attacking quality to make the BVB defense work, especially with Schlotterbeck unavailable.
Still, Borussia Dortmund are expected to be the closest challengers to Bayern Munich this season, and the odds for the away win are too good to ignore.
Goals in both nets are likely, but I would go with the higher odds on Borussia Dortmund’s away win in this match.
