CONNECTICUT HUSKIES (3-2)

Connecticut have caught my eye with their last 2 performances. They won both (obviously) and scored 45 and 40 points! Last week was particularly impressive as the Huskies beat a very good Vanderbilt side 40-21!

Perhaps the line is only at -5 because this game is being played in Rutgers, and Connecticuts 2 losses this season have both come with they've been on the road. But, the momentum is clearly with this team, and they also come in with a revenge angle, having lost this fixture last year 28-24. In the last minute. At home.

Jordan Todman leads the rushing attack for Connecticut. He ran the ball over 190 yards against a solid Vandy defence, including 2 touchdowns. Through the air, QB Cody Endres went 21 of 30 and hit 2 passes to the end zone. Look for him to try and find Michael Smith this week against Rutgers.

RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS (2-2)

While Connecticut come into this on solid momentum, Rutgers will line up having just lost 2 games on the trot. They scored a pathetic 27 points combined in those games, losing the last one to Tulane, which was quite an upset.

Rutgers starting QB Tom Savage got injured last week playing Tulane, and looks likely to be out, meaning freshman QB Chas Dodd will step in to throw the ball. Whomever ends up playing, will try and throw bombs to Mohamed Sanu (no jokes please), who is also dangerous when rushing the football. One could even say he is, explosive?

The Scarlet Knights defence looks good, and has not let opponents score more than 17 so far, but this Connecticut offence seems to have found a spark and with revenge on their minds, this looks like a great price to back the visitors.
