Analysis:

The early kickoff between Genoa and Udinese sees both sides losing their last match but the visitors comes into this match with the reputation of failing to win on their travels this season.

Genoa had been on a decent run of form until last week’s defeat at the hands of Juventus. That match was marred with a controversial penalty which Alessandro Del Piero took and converted. Genoa however comes into this match and they sit just four points off Sampdoria who occupy fourth place.

Genoa are still coming to terms with the loss of Diego Milito and Thiago Motta to Inter Milan. However, Gian Piero Gasperini is starting to get the best out of his current crop, despite being hampered with an extensive injury list.

On their injury front, Moroccan midfielder Houssine Kharja, who is sidelined until around March, will be out of this clash together with Ivan Juric, Bosko Jankovic and Omar Milanetto. This game also comes too soon for the likes of Argentine Rodrigo Palacio and former Juventus man Raffaele Palladino limiting Genoa's options in attack.

Udinese are in deeper trouble as they are in 18th in the table and it has been a very poor season for them so far with little going right for Coach Gianni De Biasi. Looking at their horrific away form, it’s going to take something special to get something at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris today.

Their cause has been dealt a severe blow as playmaker Gaetano D’Agostino is out until April at least. Nigerian midfielder Christian Obodo will also be missing for another month, while Maurizio Domizzi and Damiano Ferronetti are ruled out through injury. Chilean midfielder Mauricio Isla is missing as he has to serve a one match ban.
