This will be the first time that two French sides have come face toi face in the competition and it promises to be an exciting battle on the cards.

Last season Bordeaux won the Ligue 1 after it was dominated by Lyon over the years. As for the team news, the home side Lyon will be without Francois Clerc (knee) and Jean-Alain Boumsong (calf), while Joan Hartock is also missing due to an Achilles prblem. But Jean Makoun and Michel Bastos both returned from injury as Lyon warmed up for the game with a 2-0 win over Grenoble on Saturday.

For the visitors, midfielder Alou Diarra is suspended after being sent off in the 2-1 win against Olympiakos in their last clash. The likes of Marc Planus (knee), Abdou Traore (hamstring) and Gregory Sertic (broken toe) are also out.
