Analysis:

This is the first of the two derbies on Super Sunday as Everton welcome the visit of Liverpool and with both sides struggling for form it will be an exciting clash to see who come out on tops as they are separated by five points in the table.

Fernando Torres scored twice last season to hand the Reds a 2-0 win but this time around he is racing against time to get fit as he is suffering from a groin injury which has kept him out since their draw with Lyon at the start of the month.

But Liverpool will be confident of a win here as they have managed to beat Everton in seven out of their last nine visits at Goodison Park. Benitez have not won in the league since beating Manchester United last month and is desperately seeking a win here. As his side is out of the Champions League, a win here is a must if they are to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League next season.

As for the team news, Everton is without injured captain Phil Neville, who is out with a knee injury until next month. Mikel Arteta is already out on long term while an ankle injury keeps Leon Osman out, leaving manager David Moyes short of options here.

Then the likes of Phil Jagielka, James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe are also out with knee injuries, which could force Moyes to stick with a similar side which went down 3-2 to Hull City on Wednesday night.

Even though they were down 3-0 by half time, Everton almost came back after the breather, but despite their fighting spirits it was to no avail. The good news is that Marouane Fellaini and Diniyar Bilyaletdinov returns from suspension and will be available for selection.

Tim Howard will start in goal with Joseph Yobo and Sylvain Distin will be right in front of him as central defenders. Leighton Baines can expect to start at left-back while Lucas Neill will start on the right flank. Tim Cahill will captain the side while midfielder John Heitinga will be replaced by Fellaini while teenager Jack Rodwell is expected to continue his impressive run in the side.

Upfront we will see Louis Saha starting alone with Brazilian Jo and Yakubu Aiyegbeni likely to start from the bench.

As for Liverpool, Frenchman David Ngog will start if Fernando Torres fails to recover on time. Full-back Andrea Dossena is struggling to make the bench with a groin injury while Philipp Degen serves the last of his three-match suspension.

Pepe Reina will start in goal with Jamie Carragher ahead of him at the heart of defence. Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger will battle it out since Jamis Carragher is fit to return to the side.

Argentine Emiliano Insua will start at left-back and his fellow South American Fabio Aurelio is in contention with Yossi Benayoun to start ahead of him on the same flank.

Dirk Kuyt will continue in his winger-role on the right with Lucas Leiva and Javier Mascherano once again holding the midfield in a more deeper role. Captain Steven Gerrard will play off the chosen striker and expensive summer signing Alberto Aquilani is likely to stay on the bench once again.
