The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are set to complete their trilogy. They have faced off twice this year with the Cowboys holding a 2-0 record. Unfortunately for them, though, the only game that counts is the last one: the NFC Wild Card matchup.

People making their NFL picks know that the Eagles will have to regroup after blowing the No. 2 seed in the NFC. The Eagles entered the week with a chance to be the No. 2 seed in the NFC with a simple win but instead lost to Dallas, then lost the No. 2 seed, then lost their NFC East title and fell all the way down to No. 6. The Eagles will now have to play all of their playoff games on the road and won’t have a week off to rest.

The Eagles will also have to go back to Dallas for a second week in a row and those who bet on NFL know that winning there won’t be an easy task. They lost 24-0 last week and will have to come up with a much better game plan if they expect their NFL season to last one more week.

The Cowboys have dominated the two matchups this year and the big reason for it is that they have shutdown DeSean Jackson.

The Eagles passing game made the most passing plays of 40 yards or longer (21) this year but in the two games against Dallas, they have produced just one – none from Jackson.

Jackson has been held to just five catches and 76 yards and zero touchdowns. Clearly, the Cowboys can do what few other teams have done: contain him.

Since the Eagles offense is pass-based, it is very important to them to get their big plays through the air. They would be smart to run the ball a little bit to soften up the Cowboys, but we all know that Andy Reid doesn’t like to run the ball.

THe Betting Verdict :

The Eagles are going to go into this game with the same game plan, which is to air it out. Unfortunately, that hasn’t worked and it’s not likely to work this time around.

Look for the Cowboys to dominate the line of scrimmage again and dominate the time of possession, which will frustrate the Eagles one more time.
