Analysis:

On paper Barcelona seems set to collect all three points considering that Real Madrid won yesterday beating Xerez 3-0 to close the gap to just two points.

However, with a Champions League clash with Stuttgart on the horizon For Barca and also the fact that Atletico Madrid have been beaten at home only three times so far this season, it becomes a different proposition altogether.

Atletico Madrid have failed to win their last three games since beating Sporting Gijon 3-2 at home on the 17th January. Since then they have been beaten by Getafe 1-0 (away), lost to Malaga 0-2 (home) and drew with Racing Santander 1-1 (away).

But the only other defeats at home for Atletico Madrid have come against Real Madrid (2-3) and Villarreal (1-2).

Barcelona are so far unbeaten this season with 17 wins and 4 draws. However, 3 of those draws came away from home. Their draws away from home were against Valencia (0-0), Osasuna (1-1) and Athletic Bilbao also (1-1).
