Analysis:

For the first time in six seasons Real Madrid will be hoping to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals stage but they go into this match trailing French side Lyon 1-0 after the first encounter.

For the record in each of the past five seasons, Real Madrid have failed to get past this round but they go into the game in confident mood after going to the top of La Liga at the weekend.

The home side will however not have the services of Karim Benzema as he will not face his former club to a groin injury. That means we should instead see Gonzalo Higuain and supported by Cristiano Ronaldo as well as Kaka.

Real Madrid are without the likes of suspended duo Xabi Alonso and Marcelo, which means that Manuel Pellegrini will be force to make changes to his side. Guti is expected to start after making a successful return from injury and playing well in the win over Sevilla last weekend.

Meanwhile the visitors who are carrying a slim win from the first leg willl be without Michel Bastos who is out with a thigh injury. They are also missing Francois Clerc and Cleber Anderson who are still injured but midfielder Cesar Delgado should feature after making his comeback from a two-game absence with a thigh injury against Boulogne at the weekend.

Upfront coach Claude Puel will risk the likes of strikers Lisandro Lopez and Aly Cissokho despite not being fully fit and carrying knocks.
